There are many different types of consultations that we offer to clients and to the community.

Here is a description of just two of the types of consultation we offer:

Educational Consultation

​

An educational consultation helps you find the right school and the right school supports for your child. During the initial consultation, we will discuss the educational profile of your child. This consultation can include review of psychoeducational assessment results, IEPs, report cards and the described interests/strengths of your child. From there, we can discuss what type of school may best suit the needs of the learner. This process could mean finding a specialized program in public school, or opening a conversation about private school options. Sometimes through discussions we decide that the current placement is the best, and then we can consult or mediate with school administration, teachers, and other professionals to help better support your child. Parenting Consultation

We could not agree more with the phrase that parenting is the hardest job in the world. What's more, parenting does not come with a manual or guidebook (and yet, it can often feel to parents like they are the only ones in the world who missed the manual!)

In a parenting consultation, we will learn a bit about the specific needs of your child(ren) and that will set the tone for the conversation that follows. Usually, parenting consultations are most beneficial when there is a specific goal in mind (e.g., increasing emotional expression at home, responding to emotional expression in the home, addressing specific "triggers" for conflict). Some parenting consultations are stand-alone single sessions, although we may recommend follow-up sessions to more meaningfully address the issues at hand.
